MANILA — Kim Chiu isn’t holding back in her upcoming mystery-drama “The Alibi,” premiering on Prime Video Philippines this November 7.
The actress, who stars opposite Paulo Avelino, called it her “most daring role” — one that even surprised her while filming.

“Binigay ko na ang lahat. Yes, ito na talaga ‘yung pinaka most daring role na aking ginawa in my entire (life),” Chiu said. “Actually kami, nagulat din. Lalo na ako. Sino ‘yun, sino siya? Exciting, nababasa namin ‘yung comments sa social media. Kung paano sila nagulat — oh my gosh, ganito, ibang KimPau.”

The trailer for “The Alibi” recently dropped, instantly setting social media abuzz with reactions ranging from curiosity to shock, particularly over a scene where Chiu is seen dancing onstage and appears to have removed her top while Avelino is watching her from a couch.

When asked if her co-star approved of the scene, Chiu quipped, “Oo naman, nandun siya!” Avelino, for his part, teased, “Para sa akin naman, hindi siya ganun ka-daring. Pero baka daring kay Kim.”
Despite the buzz, both stars are taking it in stride — and even bringing their chemistry to the stage. Chiu and Avelino are set to perform together at “ASAP in Vancouver” this weekend, where they’ll also be promoting “The Alibi.”

“Last time I was in Canada was also for ‘ASAP,’ sa ibang parte naman ng Canada. Very excited to entertain our fellow Kapamilyas in Canada and bring joy to our Pinoys,” Avelino said.

Chiu added, “We’re very excited after England, after a month, Canada naman kami.”

With “The Alibi” set for release worldwide, Chiu and Avelino are gearing up to show audiences a new side of their on-screen partnership — one that promises intrigue, intensity, and just the right amount of daring.

“Naging mainit yung pagtanggap ng mga tao sa aming teaser and trailer, and just so everyone knows we’ll be shown in more than 240 territories across the globe,” he said.

“The Alibi” premieres on Prime Video Philippines on November 7.
